A Go Green Event!

All Romance eBooks launches the Go Green/Read e campaign to increase the public’s awareness about eBooks!

Palm Harbor, Florida (PRWEB) February 26, 2009 – The folks at All Romance eBooks, an on-line bookstore that specializes in the sale of romance eBooks, announced a new endeavor today, the Go Green/Read e campaign.

“The idea is to promote ebooks in general, not any specific author, publisher, eReader, or bookstore. The campaign will focus on eBooks as a more environmentally friendly alternative to print. “We chose to do this because the idea that nature should be preserved is important to us. It is a core value and one of the reasons that we adore eBooks,” explained All Romance eBooks CFO, Barbara Perfetti. “We care about our carbon footprint, the world we live in, and the world that we're leaving to future generations.”

New Literary Journal Features Novelist's Poetry!

Editors of the new literary journal Dash chose Carolyn Howard-Johnson's poem "Long Before They Closed the Napster Down" for their just-published spring edition. The new book is sponsored by the Creative Writing Club and the Department of English, Comparative Literature and Linguistics at California State University, Fullerton.

Howard-Johnson says, "My pleasure at being published by this journal doubled because the poem is based on memories of my father, an avid and thoroughly addicted smoker who loved jazz. His time was a different time and this poem evokes those times, the music of his time . . . and him. That it was chosen for a journal like this--one with a yourthful edge--renews my faith that there is not so much difference between generations after all."

The journal is dedicated to "publish poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, criticism, art, and hybrids that push the boundaries of short, open-ended expression."

Howard-Johnson's poem poetry has appeared in literary journals like the Mochila Review, Banyan Review, the new Pear Noir, and Poetic Voices. One of her poems won a reader award at The Pedestal Magazine.

Howard-Johnson studied at UCLA with Suzanne Lummis, editor of She Wore Emerald Then: Reflections on Motherhood, was coauthored by Magdalena Ball and proudly self published in the tradition of poets for centuries. An RT treat for you:

Pictured here with R Casteel are Alexis Fleming, Rebecca York, and Susan Kearney, and Army Sgt. Jesse Wiseman the winner of the Romance Around the Clock basket from R. Casteel.

And in a separate photo shoot with the Sgt. and his wife, Casteel was presented the Sgt's dog tag. Casteel held out a chain, and said, "Sarg, 20 years in the military and I never wore a dog tag. but if you will do me the honor, I won't take it off til you come home."

R stepped back and saluted the young Sergeant, who quickly snapped his own salute in return.

Believe me ladies and gentlemen when I say there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

A Review of her Free Read:
The Awakening: Short Sensual Delights

Cringing at the sound of her mother calling her “Little Red”, Red considers ignoring her until she gets her name right; especially since she turned eighteen a month ago. But her mother wants Red to deliver a basket of goodies to grandmother. Taking the road away from the village square that leads her to the short cut through the woods to grandma’s. Even with the sun high overhead the woods can be creepy although reminding Red of the villagers’ stories about bears and lions; animals she has never encountered in all the time she has walked the forest. Suddenly out of no where a loud growl emits from the trees, scaring Red and causing her to run without looking where she was headed.

Letting out a shrilling scream Red runs smack against a hard surface; knocking her to the ground, screaming all the more louder. Large hands grab her shoulders, shaking and telling her to shut up. Doing as she was told Red looks up into the softest blue eyes. Angry that he scared her so, Red reprimands the guy while pummeling him with her fists. Red quickly realizes that a “real” man stands before her; and what a splendid though rakish specimen he was, too. Wetting her lips seductively, Red informs the man that he will make her into a woman. The guy accuses her of playing with fire, provoking her to kiss him that has them falling to the forest floor. Red believes that a kiss make her a woman. Amused, the hunky man informs Red that it requires more then a kiss to make her a woman. Hmmm…what could he possibly mean?

A delightful but stimulating short story, The Awakening, is a captivating twist to the “Little Red Riding Hood” children’s tale. The characters are cute but erotic as this ten page story moves quickly; without loosing sight of its sensual plot that gives over sizing sex. After checking out her other free short story, and you’re as infatuated with her short stories as I am, then take a glance at her published books too. Heart of the Woolf catches my eye…love those paranormal Alpha males. MMMM…delicious.

Frugal Editor Wins Best Publishing Book in Reader Views 2007 Annual Literary Awards

Darts to the Politicians in Congress, ALL of you. DON'T EVEN THINK to tell us women should stay at home and not work. Our husbands can no longer make enough to support us as a couple thanks you, and if there are children involved, it is absolute necessity for both parents to work to allow them to have a decent chance some kind of life.
